Sunil Patel, President

Sunil has been directly involved in hospitality all his life. As a teenager, Sunil help manage the family owned independent property. After obtaining BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Tennessee at Knoxville, he decided to resume his keen interest in hospitality industry in 1995 and became a general manager of a Wyndham property. With over 21 years of hotel experience that includes independent, Wyndham, Accor, Hilton, and IHG, he is knowledgeable in all phases of hotel operations from concept to opening, to managing day to day operations and long term financial planning. His personal philosophy is “surround yourself with good and positive people and good and positive things will happen!” He strongly believes that having common goals with the other members of the team will help insure that everyone is working towards that same goal!

 


Prakash T. Maggan, CPA, CFO

Prakash has been involved in the hospitality industry directly and indirectly for most of his life. Prakash obtained his undergraduate degree in Business Management & Accounting from Transylvania University in 1997 and went on to obtain a law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law. Upon graduation, Prakash practiced public accounting in Dayton, Ohio at Deloitte & Touche and later with Brady Ware & Company.

Prakash returned to Kentucky to join Rainmaker Hospitality in 2008. Prakash is responsible for cash management, financial metric analysis and financial reporting.

Prakash is active in the local community and currently serves as the Treasurer of Providence Montessori School in Lexington.

 


Ketan Patel, VP Development

Born and raised in India, Ketan immigrated to the United States in 1994 and started working in hospitality business with his family.  After working with family for several years to gain the necessary experience for the hospitality business, Ketan built his first property in Lexington, Kentucky and started his successful career in the hotel industry.  Currently, he is affiliated with several hotel brands such as Wyndham, IHG, Carlson, Choice and Hilton.  Ketan’s expertise, insights and heritage in hospitality are valuable for the future development of new projects for RainMaker Hospitality.

With a core belief in networking and involvement, Ketan is an active member of local community organizations and hospitality industry organizations.  He currently serves on the Board of AAHOA as a Director at Large along with serving as a Board of Director for Kentucky Hotel & Lodging Association.
